The Lawrence County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni
Association sponsored its annual Freshmen Send-Off on Wednesday, August
3rd at Pearson Park in Neshannock Township. Twelve incoming
freshmen Penn State students were present with over 50 friends, family, and
alumni to enjoy the cool, fall evening with them. Three very deserving
incoming freshmen were each awarded a $750 scholarship to assist their
transition to Penn State!
Our featured guest
speakers included Steve Hessman, Director of Development and University
Relations at Penn State Shenango, Alum A.J. Bernstein, as well as current
students (and past scholarship winners), who covered topics ranging from
preparing for move-in day to being an involved Penn Stater.
The Send-Off event culminated with the announcement
of the Chapters' three $750.00 scholarship recipients (more
